@AFDurbin2 I know I'm two years late to answer your question Basically there was a comic series released called injustice year zero.
it takes place the year before Joker gives Superman one bad day.
basically Joker uncovered this magic scarab that gave him near unlimited power which he used to mind control members of the JSA to kill themselves in horrific fashion. he also killed several members of the JSA during the final battle before being incapacitated and sent back to Arkham.
it's also revealed that the reason Harley Quinn stayed with the Joker was because she was trying to protect ivy and they're adopted daughter.
I'll be honest I think I prefer dceased over Injustice but it's probably because of my bias towards the wonderbat pairing. That would end up getting utilized with Batman/Damien Wayne and Wonderwoman/Cassie Sandmarks.
if you've ever read dceased: hope at worlds end it reveals that Cassie Sandmarks was aged down to around the same age as Damian Wayne and Jon kent.
you would think after Joker, Victor zsasz and any of the other Arkham inmates have caused a massive body count did the people of Gotham City would be demanding something be done to put these monsters in the ground.
of course the mental health community would argue against such an extreme measure being taken f course the counter-argument would be tell that to the victims who've lost family members because of a monster like the Joker.
@KypDurronFanboy But during that time Commissioner Gordon had deputized Batman which legitimized his crime-fighting efforts. which is why Batman's worst everywhere actually sent to prison instead of Arkham.
@TheOgreS it could very well be the jury that's making the decision to send the super criminals back to Arkham instead of sending them to prison because in the BTAS episode Riddler's reform there's a news report mentioning the Penguin and how the jury is unconvinced of his guilt because all the evidence that had been gathered by Batman.
@Xandermcc the thing is I'm pretty sure Harvey would have sent the super criminals to Gotham penitentiary if they've been arrested by an actual gcpd officer.
As an example in the Batman animated series episode trial episode open showcasing the problem of Batman being a vigilante when the district attorney Janet Van Dorn was trying to put a stop Pamela Isley permanently by pushing for a life sentence which would have put a permanent end to Pamela eco-terrorism.
But the problem is Pamela Isley was apprehended by the Vigilante known as the Batman and not a gcpd officer so the Court ruled to send her back to Arkham.
@Batfam13 Richard Grayson at that time was only 13 at that time. So make sense of that time that he wouldn't be too Keen about becoming batman. By the time Damien shows up Richard will be in his late 20s early 30s. so at that point it would actually make the most sense for Richard to become Batman.
it would also be very interesting to see how Richard handles training the Next Generation Heroes getting to see him train Damian wayne, John s. kent, don and dawn allen.
I honestly think Superman's Fall From Grace in the Injustice Universe would be considered the Injustice Batman's greatest failure.

maggie sawyer come to mind.
Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle honestly, everything. Everything about their relationship is wrong. Its never been built on anything more than a mystique one sees in the other, an idealization that doesn’t fit in with what they know the other to be. As soon as they started doing the Bat Cat thing Batman started making compromises that he just would never make. This made him both unbelievable and a hypocrite. It was no surprise that they decided to have Selena jilt him at the alter. The relationship is unworkable long term.
I like young justice because it reminds me of Superman and Batman Generations, which shows the characters age. Young Justice Bruce Wayne is in his early forties meaning by the time Damian shows up Bruce might be taking more of a backseat roll coordinating missions from the cave with Dick Grayson taking over the mantle Batman.
it was a waste of everybody's time. because of Batman's wedding was actually going to happen other superheroes have been talking about it
Batman the Animated Series I have to admit that the Batman cartoon really change things up.
The Batman cartoon give us a much younger depiction of Batman who isn't completely Jaded by years of experience. as a result he is more willing to be a team player when the Justice League is formed. This cartoon was also able to flip the script on the whole Batman Superman dynamic by having Batman be the one to convince Superman to join the Justice League when normally it's the other way around.
in terms of alternate timeline / universes in the DC Universe
Young Justice is also very interesting because all of its extended media is also Canon, and when I say expanded media I'm referring to the Comic's as well as the tie-in Young Justice video game.
Super Sons: The Polarshield Project is a interesting because it shows a version of Damian Wayne who grew up free of the corrupting influence of his mother and grandfather.
DCeased, is also an interesting since it gives us a version of Cassie who's around the same age as Damian and Jon, resulting in what would be considered a proper kid Trinity.
Injustice which is basically an amalgamation of the DC Animated Universe episodes a brave new metropolis and a better world.
@Tupka217 the reason the animated Superman Batman apocalypse movie looks the way it does because warner Bros was trying to emulate the comic art, like what was done in Superman Batman Public Enemies movie.
The comic. take note how pointy Batman's cowl is
The Movie. Batman has the same pointy cowl
the animation models for superman and batman in public enemies are based on directly how they appear in the comic
@Wolfhacker 18 Superman becoming a villain old is only really interesting when it's handled it correctly. Such as the two instances in the DC Animated Universe. the first time the idea of Superman's going off the deep end was explored in the DCAU you was the superman Animated Series episode BRAVE NEW METROPOLIS. which have the death of Lois Lane at the hands of intergang was the linchpin for why Superman ended up teaming up with Lex Luthor to turn Metropolis into a police state.

The second time the idea in the DCAU was handled was in Justice League the Animated Series episode a better world, which literally had Superman go off the deep end and uses heat vision to kill Lex Luthor

If you think about it Injustice is basically a mix of a brand new metropolis and a better world. with the death of Lois Lane being the motivator for why Superman gose of the deep end and kills the Joker with the eventual regime being a version of the Justice Lords.
Joker should not be allowed access to cleaning supplies either because he can still create Joker toxin.
I would say the New 52 Superman Truth storyline is better mostly because it doesn't destroy Lois Lane reputation, since the new 52 lois had no real relationship with Clark Kent outside of a working relationship at the Daily Planet.
The problem with Bendis Superman truth is that, Lois lane-kent's reputation as an honest investigative journalist would go up in smoke since she's married to Superman people would start viewing her as a biased journalists. it also made zero sense for Perry to rehire Superman after he outed his civilian identity because now the Daily Planet had a much larger Target painted on it.
