You know what? I’m sorry for saying that, I was mad and anxious af in RL at the time cause of stuff happening at my work. Can we fr drop this? Let’s just never mention Ed again, and Ed never mention us and call it a day.
Like damn Ed, you kinda deserve the hate fr, I even tried being nice to you, but you kept getting into arguments with Spidey over upvotes, like seriously, that is so stupid. But I get it, you’re just an immature stupid kid, probably why your friends on Discord like you, cause they’re just as immature as you are, but don’t expect anyone here to like you till you mature and grow tf up. Now I’m done.
Alright tho, I’m done here fr, this is hilarious af, but I like coming here sometimes, don’t wanna get in trouble
Ed, did you just say no one likes you? I mean that part is true, but the first part isn’t
ANURAAG’S REDEMPTION ARC
Flashpoint is what got me into DC. But I think DCeased is my favorite
Listen, I’m done explaining myself, it doesn’t matter how fed up they were. If they acted rude, they acted rude. Just because it didn’t feel rude to you, doesn’t mean it wasn’t to me. If you guys want to trying to needlessly lecture me about Mary Sue, go ahead and waste your time. I’m not responding on this post.
Damian sucks, alright bye.
@ScavengerOne There was clear hostility in Echo’s reply about it. Saying,”I stopped paying attention after Mary Sue” is not just invalidating my opinion but also being clearly rude and unhelpful. It doesn’t contribute anything to the conversation, I feel like “Mary Sue” is a valid term for a lot of characters. I don’t take Damian to heart or anything btw, I just really dislike his character compared to the others. I’m not a Jason fan either, not that I hate him but he’s got anime tier writing sometimes. So I don’t enjoy him. But it’s just my opinion, and maybe I’m more adamant about my opinion on Damian because I see a lot of people dislike him, but I’m glad that he appeals to a lot of people too. But yeah, I’m sorry if I got a little hostile myself.
You’re right, my bad, but everyone stated their opinion of the character, based on the subject, and I’m telling you why I dislike him being a Gary Stu in the animated movies. Echo talking about the topic of Mary Sue was not about the subject at hand, while I was using the term Mary Sue to reference Damian in the animated movies. So if no one truly asked, was Echo’s firm stance against the term Mary Sue, and yours too. I explained why I think it, if you’re still mad that I think Damian in the animated stuff is a Gary Stu, I really couldn’t care less what you think about the term Gary Stu, and I could point you to the nearest store that sells kleenexes if you still want to cry about it. It’s my opinion on Damian, I lined it up with the definition I showed you, I showed why his feats are ridiculous and how he has barely an flaws in the animated stuff. So I’m leaving it at that.
Literally the post asked, buster.
Also, that “raised by assassin’s” thing, just sounds like an excuse for him to be a Gary Stu, wtf? He automatically just wins because “he was raised by assassin’s, and you have to expect him to win because of that”. Sounds like a Gary Stu
I don’t know what you expect, but Deathstroke has been alive longer and was literally trained by the same assassin league. So yes, Damian is still considered a Gary Stu in my opinion.
I was basing the Gary Stu argument off of this and it actually seems pretty accurate to what I was saying
You’re right, @Sisu138 . They’re called Gary Stu’s when they’re male. Also I’m not arguing with anyone, I was stating my opinion about why I dislike the character and @EchoEmpire had to be unnecessarily rude about me using the word “Mary Sue”. I also explained how Damian in the animated stuff (not the character in general media just the animated stuff) was a Gary Stu, and how he unrealistically beats Deathstroke and Nightwing, making other characters look bad so the character himself looks better. Which as I read here, is an exactly what a Gary Stu is, “a wish fulfillment character made by the author”. Having some young kid who probably weighs 70 pounds beat a master assassin like Deathstroke in my opinion is considered wish fulfillment and illogically stupid, even from a writing point, and yes, he’s often considered perfect. His flaws are barely written on in the animated stuff and he makes it 10x worse with his narcissistic attitude.
Guess I’ve never met a person I truly hate, so I wouldn’t know true hatred. But your right, hate might be an overreaction, I just can’t stand the character. This is me before Damian arrives in a comic:
Me after Damian arrives:
Also good for you, @EchoEmpire , literally no one asked.
Yeah, pretty much everything @Venom Snake2001 said, I agree with. I hate Damian, his personality is cancer, being extremely hotheaded, entitled, and cocky. Thinking he’s better than everyone around him. His character also never suffers any consequences for his wrongs, and never apologizes for them either, which really hurts relatability to the character. He also is written terribly a lot of the time, and writers often go out of their way to make the other Batfamily members look bad so Damian would look cooler. He was also given an advantage over Batman’s adopted sons by writing him as blood related, which he constantly brags about to make other Batfamily members feel bad, particularly Tim.
Also I know that the animated movies are alternate universes, but he is legit an spoiled, insufferable brat in the animated stuff. This may be extreme to say but he literally has ruined those movies for me, and DC really wants Damian to be in every animated Batman film. The animated shows also show him legit defeating Deathstroke and Nightwing, which just legit is the most disappointing thing I’ve ever seen. Seeing Deathstroke lose to a little kid just made me cringe and cemented the fact that Damian was a male Mary Sue in the animated movies. Also this is brought up a lot, but it’s a valid complaint, that Damian was absolutely god awful in Injustice, the death of Dick Grayson and his lack of remorse, on top of his shit personality, just made me HATE him in that universe.
The least best origin is Tim’s, in my opinion, it’s basically just a part 2 of Dick’s origin
To be honest, I doubt anyone viewers before 15 is gonna get the deep themes of the Joker.
