Cavill is my favorite. I think Reeve will always hold a special place in a lot of people's hearts because of the era in which Superman 1 and 2 were released, but those movies have a hard time holding up for newer viewers. Routh has the unfortunate place of being in an homage film. Returns was Singer trying to recapture the Donner era. Some people loved it, but it didn't connect at the time. Man of Steel had a great blend of heart, action, and a hero who was uncertain about his place in the world, culminating in his ultimate choice of Earth over Krypton, no matter how agonizing that choice is for him. Definitely not a perfect film, but a great interpretation of the character and my favorite of the 3 versions.
You should check out some of his other work. He still has some work to do for me as well to show that he can be the Bat, but he hates Twilight as much as everyone else does if not more.
