it's already January 1st where I live and I greet New Year to everyone here.
I have been reading some old DC comics from last 2-3 months and I wanted to know what are you excited about in 2020 when it comes to DC comics?
Don't read : Tom King's Batman
Any Metal events from Scott Snyder
I am overly excited for this Jonny but there is a worrying twist too. That being 5G is still happening and Bendis is still working on many future DC projects.

Any work of fiction generally tend to take inspirations for other works of fiction. And so over the years there have to be numerous franchises that have taken inspiration from DC characters or DC universe.
Can you list some of these works that you are aware of? I can state a few of my own.
1) BEN 10 : the franchise takes heavy inspiration from DC. They have this "Null Void" which is similar to DC's "Phantom Zone". A recurring villain in the series named "Vilgax" is inspired from Darkseid. And there is a character named "Gwen" who is inspired from DC's Raven from teen titans.
2) EXTREME UNIVERSE : Created by Rob Liefeld during his time at Image Comics. The universe has almost half of the characters directly inspired from DC universe.
Hello I am,
Mr Mxypltz
I was reading "Red Daughter of Krypton" and I noticed something strange. Supergirl in RDOK gets angry and agitated frequently without any strong reason to trigger such a reaction. I saw her fight with Lobo and she has radical mood changes during the fight.
Later she obtains the Red Lantern ring and then is forced by Red lantern corps and Green lantern corps to be submerged in a pool of blood.
Is it just me? Or does anyone else consider this entire storyline an indirect reference to Supergirl being on her periods??? Because the way she acts is erratic and since she is a Kryptonian..I wouldn't like to be around her when she is on her periods.
And you know what's worse?
SNYDER doesn't RESPECT DC characters. He openly admitted this in an public event last year that he doesn't like the idea of a Batman who doesn't kill. That he doesn't believe Superman could be this SAINT of a guy. Snyder likes most of his heroes to be in the GREY zone.
You see the problem here? This is why many people downright HATED BvS. So I hope WB is wise enough not to release the Snyder cut.
Snyder is a TRASH storyteller. He RUINED the DCEU. Why on earth would I be excited about a Snyder cut existing? to see him ruin my favourite character DARKSEID?
NO.. ABSOLUTELY NO!! I don't mean to sound bitter but you guys need to realise Snyder cut isn't some revolutionary thing. It's still a SHITTY cut.
I hope WB never releases the Snyder cut even on HBO MAX. And I hope Snyder never gets associated with any DCEU projects moving forward.
Though I do feel bad what WB did to him but then again Snyder is not a SAINT either. The only thing SNYDER is good at is visuals and directing action sequences. Like for instance the MOS fight scenes. Other than that he sucks.
When Titans Season 2 came out in September. I knew I wasn't interested for some reason. Because the first season which I liked was not so great either.
Idk why but this year I felt like not watching Krypton Season 2 as well and later I discovered those who reviewed both gave the two series bad ratings.
I would be more than okay if they hand over Titans to CW. Because CW is into those cheesy dramas. I personally love Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol more. I cannot wait for the Green Lantern series that's coming later next year. It's gonna be awesome.
Funny the movie media tried to ban because it might incite public violence is actually Inspiring people to fight for their own rights. No wonder it was banned from releasing in countries like China.
Your thoughts on this ??
It doesn't suck. They are going to make a horror movie based on trench that's wouldn't be a part of DCEU. Basically WB wants to make it a huge underwater horror like Jaws.
I don't think they are intending it to last for a few months. They have clearly started in the articles, they are going to start the 5G or 5th phase of DC after a crisis level event that will bring different versions of the Trinity. I think it will last for a year atleast or maybe more if readers like the new changes.
But I am more interested how that's going to happen? Is Perpetua gonna do some reality wrap?
YOTV to me personally is a confusing mess. I am not enjoying it's tie ins to WW and Aquaman Rebirth (because I happen to read those two). My interest for the event is at an all time low.
And tbh Scott Snyder's current JL run and his multiverse building is giving me headache. The writing to me is not good. And Snyder is throwing in his fanfiction, trying to make it canon.
PS: I am not blaming you for enjoying it. Maybe some of you like YOTV. But to me personally YOTV is what makes me roll my eyes everytime it pops up.
So I finally caught up with WW Rebirth today and this last panel of this page has me excited.
Grail has apparently over thrown Hippolyta as the Queen of Themyscira and is probably held other Amazons captive. Diana along with few Amazons who have escaped are going to face her.
And since Grail is his charge, he is most likely gonna summon Darkseid to Themyscira to complete their mission which abruptly ended few issues back.
I have never said "DC is doomed". I am simply saying what's wrong with the company? They are doing some big moves lately that has been attracting negative fans and media attention.
And about Rob Liefeld, he is not a great comic book writer or artist. But I trust his insights because previously when I used to criticise him regarding his opinions on things..he has time and again proven right or close.
Turns out DC was in talks with Image to do a crossover event or something. And for some reason Liefeld took to Twitter to say, DC has the most shitty management and hence why, he won't consider working with them until something changes.
And now today morning, the news is that WB has apparently hired a new CEO. Again, as I said big changes are happening. I don't know how it's going to impact the future of DC.
Lately I have been asking this question. I know many don't realise this. But DC is gaining some negative attention with the recent cancellation of Swamp Thing and now with the cancellation of Vertigo and few other in house imprints.
There are strong rumours flying around that DC is about to cancel Doom Patrol next.
On the other side, there is Rob Liefeld — who recently took to Twitter and he basically blamed DC of having such a shitty management. And that he wouldn't like to work with them unless they did some changes. Ofcouse, he deleted those tweets few hours later.
I have never been a fan of Liefeld but atleast his industry insights are often not wrong.
Also with WB spending 500 million to hire J.J Abrams? I'm a fan of his Cloverfield Universe but let's face it JJ and Bad Robot always were a hit or miss. It's a risky gamble to spend so much money on him.
So What's wrong with DC?
