@Mandarin18 When did he say that?
Why did Cliff get blocked?
Haven't read it but I plan to. I'm being more open to the newer stuff these days. I felt like I was being judgmental without even reading what their putting out now, and just saying it's bad without actually giving it a chance. So I'm changing that.
Still, most of the DC movies aren't very accurate to the comics. It's basically a necessity to read them. This video's fine though, most of the choices there are fine and a good watch. However, the animated movies are a better option.
Or you could just read the comics, ya know if you want to actually learn about the characters accurately.
I disagree. For me simple and straightforward origins are better, when it gets convoluted and messy It gets ridiculous and I just roll my eyes because there is no reason why it should be that way in my opinion. It makes me not even want to bother with reading anything to do with that character, since they just keep changing everything to do with them every couple of years. That's my main problem with DC in general as well, too many reboots and nothing ever sticks.
That's all well and good but I just feel like the more convoluted something is the less appealing it is, at least for me. Simplicity rules out. Imagine if Superman's origin was messed with and instead of it being what we know (Rocketed off-world by his parents moments before destruction) It is instead made into a convoluted rollercoaster with a bunch of unnecessary twists and turns added in. Like for example he gets captured before reaching earth and is cloned, among other things. I just don't see the point.
That should definitely be simplified, just make it that her actual parents died and Wonder Woman brought her in. Not every origin needs to be some huge scale event. Things were better in the New Teen Titans, at least she had an alias.
Zero Year is really cool because of the purple gloves, awesome callback to the original suit. However, World's Finest is the best here if we're talking Prime Earth exclusively, it's the only one with the correct color scheme and look of Batman.
Well then It's a good thing Orion had his 15 minutes of fame in Jack Kirby's original comics. As most people say, those are pretty much standalone and is also when Orion was last relevant. Ever since, the focus has been on Darkseid and Apokolips completely.
Absolutely. Alan Moore has the world, he has made multiple comics that have become so famous and imbedded in pop culture. There are so many fans of his comics and so many adaptations. If I was in his shoes, I'd be so honored to have my works blow up as his have and for so many people to love them, and for so many different movies and tv shows to be made on them, even if I didn't agree or necessarily like them, because they are their own thing. He sits there however, and complains and moans about it all saying their ruining it, that he doesn't want his name associated with it etc. He is completely ungrateful for the success that has come his way and I think it's about time someone said it. The dude completely rubs me the wrong way, so no I would not read his stuff, I have no interest. He also apparently said he hates Stan Lee, no clue why but the reason, whatever it is, isn't valid. I have no clue what his problem is.
Neither. Full disclosure I've never read Watchmen or Doomsday Clock. I've seen and heard enough about Alan Moore to know to stay away from all of his work, considering his attitude problem.
One name. Frank Miller. Guy can put out anything he wants even though he hasn't written a good comic book in 30 years. He also get's special treatment even though he's no different than any other writer. Alan Moore is in the same boat, only difference is, that guy thinks he's the best of all time and no one should adapt his work or even touch it. isn't grateful at all for how successful it is, or for how many adaptations have been made.
Luthor for sure. Darkseid isn't even a Superman villain, or a Justice League villain for that matter. He was Orion's nemesis, then DC took the character after Kirby finished his work, and basically have done nothing but pit the JLA against him since. Orion and New Genesis don't even matter anymore, and that's all thanks to DC comics.
The fact that some of the stories are canon but majority aren't due to all the reboots that have happened since Rebirth is just ridiculous. DC have just shot themselves in the foot time and time again for years now, their current state is their own fault.
Pretty sure they're aren't any collections for Kyle beyond the first two, which is due to the fact that nobody really likes him because of how they turned Hal into a villain and replaced him with Kyle out of nowhere. You could check out the "JLA by Grant Morrison" omnibus, which collects Morrison's full run and features Kyle as a member of the team. You could also subscribe to DC Universe Infinite, they have many single issues there if you really want to read more of Kyle on his own.
Superman for sure, I don't even know who Wonder Woman's villains are except for Cheetah, and that is due to me not being a fan of her whatsoever. I tolerate her with the JLA but could do without her to be honest.
Actually, It's just me playing around
I don't think Dick and Donna were ever together, Marv Wolfman portrayed them as a brother and sister type relationship from what I've read at least. So unless I'm missing something, they were never together. Wally of course is the TRUE answer here, their romance was the best of all time! it's just so obvious that their made for each other. Am I right, or am I right? ;)
Just looked this up and according to what I read, she auditioned to play Wonder Woman for a TV movie in 1974, but she did not get the part, Instead they casted Cathy Lee Crosby. The TV movie was meant to be a pilot for a potential TV series but ABC did not pick it up and instead created a new series afterwards which Lynda Carter ended up being casted in.
