Supposing if D.C. and Marvel existed together in the same universe….<<REDACTED BY MODERATOR>>
When it comes to the comics, I'll gladly take the Prime Earth/New Earth version(s) as my top personal-favorite. As far as the film or television versions go, I choose Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh first and foremost, followed by Tyler Hoechlin in both the Arrowverse and Superman & Lois as my runner-up.
Gene Hackman (1930 - 2025). Adieu, comical Lex Luthor...
Supposing if D.C. and Marvel existed together in the same universe….<<REDACTED BY MODERATOR>>
God rest his soul.
With both Superman and Batman, as well as Robin and Green Lantern, being reinvigorated for the D.C.U., and The Flash (2023) paving the way for the new franchise, it makes one wonder if the Justice League will one day be reiterated for it as well. James Gunn and Peter Safran may not have said anything about the team given their current plans, but given how the League is D.C.'s flagship team and those three particular heroes being among its members, it makes one wonder if the two of they will one day include them in any future entries. Plus, the title for the franchise's first "Chapter", "Gods and Monsters", is named after one of the team's comic arcs and its animated film version. And if so, with Darkseid being the League's greatest enemy, the only remaining questions are if he'll be included as well in the future, who could portray him, what he's after could be, and how such a future conflict could take place. Obviously, given the plans that James and Peter have made and those that they're developing, in addition to considering what their vision will be, it'll be very different from Zack Snyder's scrapped plans. But given how popular they are in the comics, they just have to be included.

I for one would be intrigued by such a new story, especially after Doomsday Clock crossed over the Watchmen characters with the main D.C. universe, heroes, and villains that we've all come to know and love over time. But what would you all think of such a follow-up?
Happy belated, Kal-El!
As unlikely as this probably sounds, suppose maybe they'll also make animated adaptations of Before Watchmen and Doomsday Clock? I for one would be interested to see where those would go if they were given the green light.
^^ 🤦♂️
@NoahB2002 The "shocking" part, or "unfortunately"? If the former, it's because after everything that Warner did to screw everything up, the revelations of the old plans make one wonder how much more successful an entity the D.C.E.U. could've been in spite of its questionable flaws. If the latter, it's because of the studio continuing their trend of deliberately breaking their promises and refusing to give Snyder's vision the respect it deserves, and totally making it comparable Frankenstein's monster.
@Tupka217 No one ever said it would be anything like the Batman: Arkham franchise; the D.C.E.U. was only a failure because the studio kept mucking it up simply because they feared they were "limping" behind the success that Disney and Marvel have enjoyed with the M.C.U. -- they rushed everything and gave Snyder's vision the finger. If they didn't want him to conceive it, then they shouldn't have hired him from the get-go. He had a plan, and they still had their fingers up their asses.
I am darkness, I am vengeance, I am justice, I am the night, I'm Batman! 🦇
According to storyboard artist Jay Oliva in August 2023, in addition to Snyder's intended "Darkseid quadrilogy" that would have ended up with what he described as "a Justice League Unlimited version" of the "Snyder-Verse", Warner Bros. planned to make a Flash trilogy, which was at different points of development, with directors like Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa being considered, that would have culminated in a "Flashpoint" film adaptation similar to Oliva's D.C. Universe Animated Original Movies (D.C.U.A.O.M.) film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013), which would have revealed that Professor Zoom had been behind the D.C.E.U.'s events, having been in the background during most of the trilogy while having some influence over the Justice League films' events, provoking the Flash into changing the universe in a way that resulted in everyone becoming enemies with those who used to be their allies, forcing the Flash to reboot the franchise in a way that could have introduced a new cast, due to the studio folks feeling that the starring actors would wish to move on from their roles after a decade.
Well, with The Flash having been inspired by the "Flashpoint" story-arc and, albeit in a totally different fashion, totally revamping the D.C.E.U. into the D.C.U., coupled with how they mucked the franchise up and gave Snyder the finger, unfortunately, it looks like Warner got their wish, just much sooner than initially anticipated.

Shocking, isn't it?
Superman: The Movie (1978)
I don't know if I'll ever return to this database, and I honestly highly doubt it. But after everything that A.O.L. Time Warner Bros. Discovery Entertainment Media has done to muck things up for the D.C.E.U. and their lack of a desire to fix the messes that they started, coupled with the filmmakers' and actors' lack of fighting to get its things back on the right track again at the time, I've become highly skeptical of the future of interconnected D.C. films and shows. If they repeat this same mistake again with the upcoming D.C.U., then they should just stop altogether. It's as simple as that. They have no one to blame for this mess but themselves! Had they let the filmmakers take their own chances and execute their visions for the stories as they all saw fit, then the D.C. Extended Universe could've been a more successful entity despite its questionable flaws. Instead, the folks at the studios simply gave them all their middle fingers crossed into an X in favor of simply looking after their own bonuses and careers. That unfortunate reality is simply unacceptable and so motivated by greed and paranoia. While I'm willing to give James Gunn and Peter Safran's D.C. Universe the benefit of the doubt, if they do repeat this same mistake again, then I'll have turned my back on D.C. altogether. Given Gunn's prior experience with the M.C.U. in directing the Guardians of the Galaxy films and special and serving as producer in some of its other entries, however, I hope that they'll have learned a big lesson since hiring him if they still haven't yet. And if not, then D.C. will have crashed and burned. So block me if you have to, but that's that. Sorry to bid you all farewell on such a bitter note, but happy effing upcoming Valentine's Day, people.
Darkseid was only a "brooding, generic" villain in Z.S.J.L. because the folks at Warner refused to allow Snyder to fully flesh out his vision as he saw fit. Since he's considered the gravest threat that D.C. comics have ever faced, having become the Justice League's arch-nemesis, this should happen. Obviously, it's a t-b-d situation, but with Gunn claiming to treat these characters and concepts properly, I think this furthers my mindset and belief that Darkseid will return in the new franchise. https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-darkseid-reboot-scarier/
@Dr. Nice I dunno about Martian Manhunter making Superman look weak. He's vulnerable to fire, which Kryptonians can, in fact, withstand. Plus, nothing's been said about how the Martian Manhunter's can allow him to potentially shatter the boundaries of the space-time continuum, like how it has on Supes's.
