A friend of mine said that he's one of rare characters that have no bad runs
I started reading his new 52 stuff and its so good
Shazam feels kinda dumb to me and it gets confusing
Like okay, people ask for his name and he says "shazam" he's gonna transform
And the name gets confusing since shazam is billy, the wizard and by the looks of it, mary now too
Its gonna get confusing if you ask me
Though with the announcement billy is gonna by "the captain" now I don't see things getting better
By the looks of, dc seems to try to sneak its way into calling billy captain marvel
Personally I would have called billy captain thunder as that was originally gonna be his name before fawcett settle on cpt. marvel or better yet:The Big Red Cheese

Possible reasons include but not limited to:
Because RWBY is an unfunny joke that people just want to end
Interest in rwby is at an all time low with more people being more interested in rwby r34 then the actual show. (Thats not a joke, the rwby nsfw sub reddit is larger then the rwby sub reddit, its become like overwatch in that regard)
Little to no marketing for the movie
Judging by the initial response to the announcement, nobody seems to care about, and forgot it existed
People are more interested in news for the next volume
