1937 saw the debut of Detective Comics (Volume 1). Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, strapped for money, entered an agreement with his printer Harry Donenfeld and accountant Jack Liebowitz to form Detective Comics, Inc. Meanwhile, still under the National Allied banner, New Comics (Volume 1) was changed into New Adventure Comics (Volume 1).

Magazine printer "Busy" Arnold, seeing the market for comic magazines rise, decided to join the game with Feature Funnies (Volume 1), the first comic magazine of what would become Quality Comics.
