In 1944, National Periodical Publications was born. National Allied and Detective Comics, Inc. had already practically merged when Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson was bought out, and now Liebowitz and Gaines' All-American Publications was added. Though "National Periodical" was the official name, it used "Superman-DC" on comics and was colloquially known as "DC Comics" by now.
