1947 saw the death of two icons: All-American founder Maxwell C. Gaines and Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston. Black Canary debuted as a supporting character to Johnny Thunder, and the roster of villains was expanded with the Injustice Society: Per Degaton, the Wizard, Sportsmaster, Icicle and Tigress.
