In 1972, the price of comics is reduced after only a year - going from 25 to 20 cents. They reduce the number of pages back to 36, what it had been before the original hike from 15 to 25 cents.

Kinney spins off its non-entertainment divisions and continues on as Warner Communications. They acquire the licensing rights of the Marvel Family from Fawcett Publications and Tarzan from Gold Key Comics. Jack Kirby ends most of his New Gods, but is still bound to a contract with DC. He creates Kamandi and Etrigan.
