In 1983, DC purchases Charlton's "Action Heroes". The company had been struggling for years, and were forced to sell their properties in the hopes of survival. It did not last; they ceased operarions in 1985. Several titles reach a milestone number: Wonder Woman #300, Legion of Super-Heroes (Volume 2) #300, The Brave and the Bold #200 and Adventure Comics #500 - though The Brave and the Bold is canceled and Adventure Comics ends three issues later.
The popular New Teen Titans (Volume 1) introduces Terra, and the Batman titles introduce Jason Todd and a rift with the Justice League, which leads to the formation of the Outsiders.
