52 #4 is an issue of the series 52 (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 2006. It was published on June 1, 2006.

Synopsis for "Dances With Monsters"

Day One
Now on the Question's payroll, although not sure why, Renée Montoya begins the third week of a stakeout in front of a warehouse at 520 Kane Street in Gotham City.

In outer space, several astronauts and the former Outsider known as Halo are searching for signs of the heroes who disappeared in space during Infinite Crisis. Halo discovers a signal on the Zeta frequency, via which Adam Strange is known to travel. This sets the team into action.

In Metropolis, Booster Gold saves six-year-old Thaddeus Star after the kid falls from an elevator platform. Back at his apartment, Booster is criticized by Fire for marketing his heroic activity.

Day Three
The Question meets up with Montoya, although there is little information shared.

John Henry Irons begins suffering from hallucinations at the Steelworks. He finds his hand and part of his face have transformed into organic steel just as an explosion rips through his laboratory.

Day Four
Ralph Dibny approaches the Cult of Conner and learns about Kryptonian ceremonies that may provide visions of the afterlife. Cassie Sandsmark convinces Ralph to partake in the ritual, which involves submersion in the striped waters of the River Memon. Ralph agrees, but when he awakens, he finds that his wedding band is missing, as are the cult members.

Day Five
Montoya and the Question witness a hulking mass entering the Kane Street warehouse. They go inside and discover a green-scaled monster that attacks them. During the struggle, a crate of super-advanced weaponry is broken open. Montoya uses a hi-tech firearm to destroy the creature.

Day Seven
The Zeta Beam lands in Western Australia, depositing several previously missing super-heroes: the Green Lantern Alan Scott, Herald, Bumblebee, Hawkgirl, Cyborg, and Firestorm. Green Lantern is bleeding from his left eye, Herald has a piece of shrapnel embedded in his chest, Hawkgirl is twenty-five feet tall, and Cyborg and Firestorm are fused together.
