Synopsis for "Invisible Mafia, Part 3"
Robinson goes to a bar located in the seedy underbelly of Metropolis, where she finds a woman known only as "Candy", who gives Robinson the piece of Kryptonite she asked for. She also reminds Robinson that "Kryptonite" is one of the words they are not supposed to say out loud, lest they will trigger Superman's super hearing. Candy asks Robinson what does she plan to do with the Kryptonite, and Robinson says she does not want to be anywhere Superman but at least the Kryptonite will protect her.
The next morning at the Daily Planet, Jimmy faces some problems with his work until he is met by Clark, who tells him that Lois sends her regards. Shocked that Clark saw Lois again, Jimmy asks about her but Clark cannot answer any of his questions, as he suddenly feels weak and loses his composure. Nearby, Robinson tells Perry about her story on Boss Moxie's death, saying there is a criminal conspiracy on Metropolis. Perry does not think Robinson's story is headlining material, as they know nothing about Moxie's killer. By Perry's reasoning, that's not a conspiracy, that's just an unsolved murder.
Perry notices the weakened Clark and attempts to help him. As the Daily Planet employees rush in to help Clark, Robinson grabs her purse and walks away. Using his X-ray vision, Clark notices the Kryptonite on her purse. With the Kryptonite far away, Clark recovers and says he had bad shrimp for dinner.
Later that evening, Robinson attempts to walk home until she gets ambushed by Batman, who grabs her purse, knowing who Robinson is and what she is hiding in her purse. Batman says that Kryptonite is a weapon of mass destruction, but Robinson answers that the Kryptonite technically stops a weapon of mass destruction, to which Batman admits she has a good point. As Batman leaves Metropolis, Superman thanks him for his assistance, but suddenly, his super hearing picks up a discussion.
Robinson complains to Candy that she lost the Kryptonite and there must be a leak in her network. Candy refuses to believe that and threatens Robinson with a knife. Before Candy can make good on her threat, however, the Red Cloud suddenly kills her. Moments later, Superman enters the bar and asks what happened, and the scared Robinson hugs him and tells him about the Red Cloud.
Meanwhile, at a hotel in Chicago, Lois attempts to write her next story, until she hears a knock on her door. Lex has come to visit.
