Synopsis for "Coming Of Age"

Superman is under attack by the Red Cloud. Despite his best efforts, he cannot stave off Red Cloud's toxins forever. Fortunately, help arrives in the form of Naomi McDuffie, who disobeyed Batman's orders to stay inside the Hall of Justice and went on to help Superman against Red Cloud. Naomi uses her energy blasts to separate Red Cloud from Superman, who regains enough strength to fight back. The battle doesn't last long, however, as Red Cloud dissipates. Trish Q writes a story about the battle with information from witnesses.

Meanwhile, Superman and Batman take Naomi back to her mother in Oregon and commend Naomi for her bravery. Still, Batman warns Naomi not to become overly dependent on her powers, lest she will become lazy and arrogant. S.T.A.R. Labs arrives to set up a base on Naomi's hometown, and Superman and Batman decide to keep an eye on them. As the World's Finest leave, Naomi and her mother are visited by Dr. Glory.

Elsewhere, Marisol Leone talks with Mr. Strong about Red Cloud's battle with Superman. Strong tells Leone that Red Cloud's powers had been amplified and she no longer seemed interested in working on the Invisible Mafia's behalf. Leone suspects that it was Lex Luthor who upgraded Red Cloud's powers and tells Strong that his organization does not need to be invisible anymore. The time has come for them to start a war and soon, Metropolis will know how big their empire is.
