Synopsis for "Metropolis Doom! Part 3"
Last week, at the Hall of Doom, Lex and the Legion of Doom await for Leviathan's arrival. Despite the Legion's reservations about Leviathan, Lex is impressed that Leviathan successfully destroyed all of the world's spy agencies, while Superman, Batman and Lois Lane were unable to expose him until it was far too late. Grodd believes Leviathan will try to destroy Lex, to which Lex thinks Grodd is projecting his own dreams into Leviathan, who teleports into the Hall of Doom and greets Lex.
As he takes off his mask, Leviathan reveals he is indeed Mark Shaw and he gave that information to Lois Lane in an attempt to make up for the fact that he killed her father, General Sam Lane. Brainiac is interested in Leviathan's technology and Mark lets him analyze it as an attempt to further ingratiate himself with Lex, who asks what will Mark do now that everyone knows who Leviathan is. Mark says that he wanted to expose of all of the world's secrets and create a world without secrets and lies. The Justice League, according to Mark, is fighting to protect a broken world and it's not even trying to fix it. Then, he teleports the Legion to his home, Leviathan Island.
In the present, the battle between the Justice League and the Legion of Doom continues. While the Daily Planet informs the citizens to stay away from the battlefield and remain inside their homes, Superman attempts to help his fellow heroes contain the threat, but Lex hits in the back with an energy beam that destroys a huge portion of Metropolis.
Back in Leviathan Island, Lex tells Mark that his idea to change the world was too violent. If he revealed all of the world's secrets at once, the world would turn on him. If Leviathan wants to bring about real change, he needs to make himself the solution.
Two days ago, in Metropolis, Robinson Goode is walking across a darkened city block while answering a phone call from Perry, who is upset by Robinson's constant absences from work. He threatens to fire Robinson, causing her to hang up in him. She tries to enter an abandoned building, wanting to turn it into her new home base, but she is surprised by Lex and Mark, who were already waiting for her. Aware of the Red Cloud's activities in Metropolis, Lex and Mark present the opportunity of a lifetime. They want her to kill Superman.
Robinson is unsure whether or not she can actually kill Superman, as she attacked him once and she barely escaped. Lex and Mark says that this time will be different: not only Red Cloud's powers have been upgraded, Leviathan and the Legion will soften Superman up so that Red Cloud can make her move. For their plan to work, they need to attack Superman at the place he would never use his full power in, even if he's attacked from all sides and he has support from other superheroes, because the full damage would be unacceptable to him. Robinson knows they're all standing in that one place: Metropolis itself.
In the present, the battle has indeed caused severe damage to Metropolis.
