Synopsis for "Metropolis Doom! Part 4"

Before the battle against the Justice League started, Lex explained his plan of attack to the Legion of Doom, now joined by Leviathan and Red Cloud. He also tells the Legion to use their new powers to the best of their ability, as they might not be able to enjoy the moment.

In the present, Superman and the Justice League stand defeated in front of Lex and the Legion of Doom, who have decimated a huge portion of Metropolis. As Red Cloud infects Superman with her toxins, Leviathan sets his floating island above Metropolis. Lex tells Leviathan to do his part, but Leviathan doesn't respond. As Lex is distracted, Superboy ambushes him but the Legion of Doom incapacitates him. Batman attempts to intervene but he is attacked as well.

Superman begs Red Cloud to help to evacuate civilians, as they are innocent and they have nothing to do with Lex's plans. Reluctantly, she lets Superman go and helps any remaining civilians to escape, while Superman attacks the Legion giving his fellow superheroes the opportunity to fight back. Seeing that they have lost the advantage, Lex calls for a retreat and Leviathan teleports the Legion to parts unknown.

The Justice League has no idea of what is happening and they don't trust Red Cloud after her sudden change of heart. A hologram of Leviathan appears before the gathered heroes and he explains that he never trusted Lex or his methods, so he teleported the Legion as far away from Metropolis as possible. Leviathan says he still wants to change the world, but Superman replies Leviathan is threatening the world into doing what he wants. Leviathan doesn't care and he teleports away, along with his island. With the battle over, the superheroes assist the authorities with the relief effort. As Superman and Superboy do recon, Superman thanks Superboy for his help today. Superman still has questions about who Superboy is, but for now, they should help with the cleanup.

With Superman and his allies distracted, Red Cloud sneaks back into her home and finds Marisol Leone waiting for her. Robinson is surprised at herself that she had the chance to kill Superman but ultimately didn't go through with it, but Leone tells Robinson that Superman will reveal his secret identity in the pages of the Daily Planet. Leone and Robinson observe that many things are changing around them, but if they can find a way to trust each other again, they will soon own it all.
