Synopsis for "Warworld Rising, Part Six"

Superboy and Supergirl battle with Thao-La, destroying the Fortress around them. Superman carries Lois to safety but she yells at the others not to hurt Thao-La, as she does not want to kill them and is only doing it because Mongul is holding her people hostage. Superman stops the fight and tells Thao-La to stand down, while Mongul orders her to kill them through the Orphan Box. Thao-La is deeply conflicted and can't decide what to do until Superman tells her to make the choice she knows is right. She breaks her chain and rejects Mongul, and the Orphan Box shocks with an apparently lethal amount of energy. She begs Superman to save her people and he is able to pull the Box away from her, and sees Mongul sitting in his throne room. Superman tells Mongul he is coming for him and destroys the Orphan Box, but Mongul simply smirks.

Two days later, the Superman Family lay the two Phaelosians to rest in the Fortress of Solitude, meanwhile Thao-La survived but was left severely injured and comatose, and has been placed in a healing tank to recover. Superman swears that he will find out who the two men were and will ensure their stories are remembered, and that he will free the other Phaelosians. Superboy hears somebody outside, which turns out to be the Justice League. Lois told them what happened and what he's planning, however they cannot help him. The Justice League needs the support and trust of Earth's governments to complete their mission, and following his actions over the Genesis Fragment they have no choice but to expel him from the League and with international tensions high they can't leave the planet. Superman understands and they part amicably, except Batman who remains behind. Batman tells him he knows his powers are fading and tries to convince him not to go, but Superman can't be dissuaded. Eventually, Batman asks if it's true that Superman has put together another team for the Warworld mission, which Superman says he has.

Superman says his goodbyes to his family. Superboy asks to come with him but Superman tells him he is needed on Earth and that the League may try to recruit him, which Jon rejects out of hand. He warns his father that he learned in the future that Superman won't come back from this one, but Superman is sure he will and asks Jon to trust him, promising that he will come home. Clark spends one more night with Lois then meets up with his new team, the Authority, and the Enchantress flies them into space.
