Synopsis for "Falling Like Rain from a Metallic Storm"

Superman carries Lois and Jimmy to safety and then tries to prevent the falling aircraft carrier crashing onto the city. He is able to steer its fall to splash down in Hob's Bay, flooding low lying areas of the city and other moderate damage, but without anyone dying. Citizens pull the unconscious Superman out of the water and Grunhar teleports Lois and Jimmy up to the Gorathian ship to observe the second trial. On the ship, Grunhar's assistant Goor takes them to the "social level", essentially a bar, where aliens of various races have gathered to observe and place bets on the trials. He tells then they have free run of the deck, but if they are found outside it they will be killed on sight.

On Earth, Superman regains consciousness and flies up to the Gorathian ship. Grunhar and Goor watch as the bets for the trials come in and notice that more people are betting on Superman to win. Lois tells Jimmy that she will act as Superman's "second" and draw attention, while he sneaks off and tries to find anything on the ship that can help them. Xalt takes Lois to the arena where Superman will face his second trial. When she sees Superman she runs up and kisses him. Grunhar reveals that the next trial is to save the Bottled City of Kandor, stolen from the Fortress of Solitude, from twelve deadly robot arms. Additionally, if Superman fails the Gorathians will obliterate Paris and Chicago.

Meanwhile, Jimmy slips away from the bar and into the bowels of the ship. Lex Luthor hacks into his signal watch and offers to help him in any way he can.

Superman runs at full speed towards Kandor. He destroys some of the arms but can't stop all of them in time so he throws his cape, made of indestructible Kryptonian fabric, over it. The cape protects Kandor while Superman destroys the other arms. The watching crowd cheers for Superman and Grunhar swears that Superman will fails his final challenge. He orders Goor to release "The Daxamite".

Synopsis for "Lois & Clark: In Love. At Work., Part Two"

Lois and Clark's relationship is further strained when Lois take Clark off the metro beat and reassigns it to Mariposa. Clark is reduced to writing human interest stories on the back page. One day, while he and Jimmy are watching a ten year old girl try to set a record for bouncing on a pogo stick, Jimmy has to run off as he gets a notification that Atomic Skull has broken out of prison. Clark also slips away and changes into Superman, he flies downtown where Atomic Skull is rampaging and tries to get him to stand down, but Atomic Skull isn't listening. They both spot Mariposa and Jimmy on a gangway nearby and Skull blasts it, sending them falling. Superman rescues them but when Mariposa asks him for a comment he flies away without a word.
