Synopsis for "Phantoms, Part 12: Finale"
The Phantom Zoners still at large flock to join Xa-Du's quest of revenge against the House of El, and the Super-Family meet up on an alien world to go over next steps. Mon-El's phase circuitry device has almost failed and he is beginning to one again show signs of lead poisoning. He insists on staying in the fight but Superman tells him he has to return to the Zone before he fully materialises and dies. Mon-El is angry that this means once again exile without a purpose, and an imprisonment he doesn't deserve. Superman says he is sorry but it is the only way, and promises that he will never stop looking for a cure. Mon-El resignedly says goodbye and they hug, before Superman sends Mon-El back to the Zone.
Suddenly, Xa-Du's Phantom Zoners dive out of the sky and overpower the Super-Family. They wake up on an orbital platform with their hands tied. Xa-Du claims that he clawed his way up through the Well of Time and punched his way back into reality, and has had subjective millennia to plan his revenge. He tells them that the platform they are on, when charged fully by their collective heat vision, will mimic the detonation of Krypton, and the blast will transform their bodies into Kryptonite, leaving them to die an agonising death by poisoning.
Just as the Zoners are about to fire their heat vision into the machine, a dimensional rift opens behind "Xa-Du" and another Xa-Du crawls out. He throws the first Xa-Du onto the platform and the impact causes him to shapeshift back into the Martian Manhunter, revealing that he is an impostor and it has all been a trick. The Super-Family easily break their bonds and fly up off the platform while Superman tackles the real Xa-Du. Superman and Xa-Du fight and the others fire their own heat vision into the platform, revealing that it is a giant Phantom Zone Projector. The Projector sends the Zoners back to the Phantom Zone and Superman throws Xa-Du through the portal.
Back at the Fortress of Solitude, Supergirl goes to meet with the Science Council of Kandor. She convinces them to allow for the possibility of parole from the Phantom Zone for reformed inmates, and they appoint Mon-El as the "warden" who gets to determine if they are truly penitent for their crimes, giving him a purpose to his existence.

Synopsis for "Supergirl in Sentence"
Prisoner 8912's two personalities reintegrate into a single mind, meaning Supergirl has in a way both killed and saved her. Supergirl rebuilds the courthouse satellite and appoints the bailiff robot as the new judge; in turn he sentences Prisoner 8912 to learn everything about the destroyed worlds in order to fully understand what their destruction meant. Supergirl reports what happened to the United Planets Thanagar outpost and returns the contact lens they gave her to erase people's memories.
She returns to Earth and meets up with Power Girl. Paige asks Supergirl if she knows why Superman sent her for the job and Supergirl says she believes it is because she understands that something greater can come out of the striction of a planet.
