Synopsis for Superman: "The Great Superman Impersonation!"

Clark Kent is driving home from the Dailey Planet Christmas party when he notices that there is a car following him. He fakes a crash and allows himself to be abducted to find out why he is being tailed. He finds that his abductors are agents of General Pedro Valdez and they want him to impersonate Superman in order to protect their President Juan Moro. They have noticed that Clark Kent is a look alike for Superman and they feel that his likeness will be enough to scare off any potential assassins. In reality, Valdez is the assassin ring leader and he hopes that the fake Superman will give the President a false sense of safety so that he will relax his security measures. This would make it easier to assassinate the President. Clark agrees to wear the Superman costume but he then uses his x-ray vision to scan their mansion and finds a man being held prisoner in the basement. The prisoner turns out to be another Superman lookalike by the name of Manuel Baeza. He is a citizen of El Salmado but refuses to go along with Valdez’s scheme and was imprisoned awaiting execution. Superman helps him escape and makes up a story that he saw Baeza drown. Later that evening, Clark Kent is dropped from an airplane over El Salmado using a transparent parachute to simulate Supermans ability to fly. The parachute is damaged so Superman has to use his own power of flight to land. He arrives at the presidential palace where he meets President Moro and convinces him that he is the real Superman while Valdez stands by the President’s side. The President is pleased and immediately dismisses his guards. In the meantime Clarks damaged transparent parachute is discovered and Valdez realizes that Clark is the real Superman. He uses a fake Lois Lane to lure Superman into a Kryptonite trap but unbeknownst to Valdez, Superman has switched places with President Moro with the use of rubber masks.. Valdez is apprehended but he is confident that he still has the knowledge of Supermans real identity. He then observes Clark Kent walking along the streets of El Salmado and realizes that he cannot possibly be Superman. Little does Valdez realize that he has observed Baeza impersonating Clark Kent. Clark later returns to the daily planet where Lois is reading the story of his latest scoop in foiling the assassins.

Synopsis for Supergirl: "The Maid of Doom!"

Supergirl is given a mission from the U.N. to deliver messages of peace to three hostile worlds. One of those worlds is the planet Mutor, ruled by a race of shape-shifters called Plasmos.

Back on Earth, Supergirl approaches Streaky and Krypto and they appear to die when they are touched by Kara, surrounded with a strange blue glow. Horrified, Kara deduces she must have picked up some odd form of radiation poisoning while in space.

Supergirl heads to the Fortress but she cannot find a cause or a cure. After accidentally killing Mxypztlk and Comet, and watching their bodies vanish, Supergirl decides to banish herself to the past so everyone is safe from her. Then Superman shows up and convinces her to banish herself to the Phantom Zone until a cure is found.

Kal tells Kara to fly to the Fortress and go back with the Phantom Zone Projector. Superman sends his cousin to the Zone, and then he reveals he is not Superman. He is Sklor, a Mutorian secret agent sent to prepare Earth for conquest by eliminating Supergirl and Superman. First, imitating Supergirl, Sklor tricked Superman, Krypto, Streaky, Comet, and the Kandorians into going to the 40th Century. Then he imitated Superman, Krypto, Streaky, Comet, and Mr. Mxyzptlk in succession, and pretended to die and glow blue when Supergirl touched him to convince her she has gained the "touch of death" for super-beings.

Back on Mutor, the Plasmos are planning their attack when Supergirl arrives and reveals she was never banished to the Zone: she figured their whole scheme out and decided to play along.

Seeing their best agent was outwitted by one of the champions of Earth, the Plasmos agree to sign a peace treaty and abandon war forever.
