Synopsis for Superman: "Superman's Rainbow Face"

Superman returns to Metropolis one day after patrolling space. He finds that he has been exposed to Red Kryptonite which gives him a tingling sensation and causes his face to turn different colors depending on his mood. Superman arrives at a TV show benefit run by Lana Lang. He is approached by a group of female admirers who fawn over him causing his face to turn Red with embarrassment. The change is noticed by Lois Lane who is standing nearby. Superman explains to her that the change is a result of Red Kryptonite that he has been exposed to in space. Later at the Daily Planet, Clark uses his super vision to check on the bottle city of Kandor. He witnesses the laboratory of Nor-Kan a great scientist that is working on an invention that will enlarge the city back to normal size. Nor-Kan is exposed to a deadly dose of radiation from the inventions power source and grows sick. Clark views the scene from the daily planet and his face turns ghostly white with worry. Lois then walks in and Clark pretends to open Perrys safe to hide the color on his face. The effect quickly goes away and Clark resumes his normal activities without arousing Lois’s suspicions. Later, Clark and Lois drive by the wedding of an astronaut that is getting married. Clark envisions that It would be nice to settle down and have a family but that would be difficult with his line of work. His face starts to turn Green with envy while he is in the car with Lois. Clark thinks on his feet and arranges to pass by an abandoned Inn with a Green lantern on the front door. He ignites the lantern which results in both Lois and Clark having a shade of green on their face. Lois realizes that Clarks face is green but the lantern provides a good explanation. Superman then decides to check on Kandor with his super vision and sees that his friend Nor-Kan has died. His face turns Blue with sadness but he realizes that he must do something before Lois notices his face. They pass by a lake and Clark uses his super ventriloquism to pretend that someone is drowning and calling for help. Clark stops the car and dives into the water. He uses a balloon to mimic a person in need of help and pretends to save him. Lois witnesses the rescue but becomes increasingly suspicious. Back at the Daily Planet Lois decides to set a trap for Clark once and for all. She places a green jewelry stone on Clarks desk with a note asking Clark to see if it is a real piece of Kryptonite. When Clark reads the note, his face turns Yellow with fright. Realizing he is trapped he quickly looks up and sees a golden bowling trophy on a shelf. He angles the trophy just right so that it reflects a golden shade off Clarks face. Clark is then able to claim that it is the trophys refection that is causing his face to turn yellow. Lois realizes that her attempts to prove that Clark is Superman seem futile. The Red K wears off the next day and Clarks life returns to normal.

Synopsis for Supergirl: "The Great Supergirl Double-Cross!"

Lena Thorul arrives at the home of Linda Danvers. She arrives in her boyfriends car alone and states that her boyfriend Jeff Colby had been called away on business and will join them later. Lena suddenly receives a strange sense that her boyfriend is in danger and about to crash on an airplane. Linda uses her super vision to confirm that a pilot has ejected from his plane and is landing near a body of water. Linda uses her super breath to make sure that the pilot and the plane land safely. She then witnesses the pilot burying uniform and parachute under a pile of leaves. After a while Jeff Colby arrives at Lindas house where Lena introduces him as her boyfriend. Linda’s suspicions are aroused as she wonders why Jeff is being so secretive about his activities. Linda uses her telescopic vision once more to see that Jeff is fidgeting underneath the hood of his car. She sees that he is using the car engine as a transmitter to communicate with a group of thieves on the ocean. Jeff radios that he has apparently sabotaged an experimental plane and that he will deliver the plans for a solar powered rocket. His communications are aimed at a man made spy-dome floating out in the ocean. The dome is operating outside the 3 mile jurisdiction limit and Linda witnesses a group of spies bidding on secret plans from the US. Linda finds herself torn between performing her duty and keeping Lenas friendship. She knows that once she exposes Jeff Colby her friend Lena will no longer want to be her friend. Linda decides that she must capture Jeff for the safety of her country. During a party she uses a hypnotic space crystal lure Jeff into a trance. She makes it seem like Jeff is only interested in dancing and spending time with Linda while Lena looks on. While in his hypnotic state, Jeff even places a ring on Lindas finger that was meant for Lena. Lena witnesses what is going on and feels devastated that her two best friends have betrayed her. She breaks up with Jeff the next day but Linda then learns some new information from a visit to FBI headquarters. Apparently Jeff Colby is a top FBI spy who once put Lex Luthor in jail. He had recently been posing as a traitor to gain entrance into the Spy-Dome gang. His job was to gather information and find a way to bring the spy-dome inside the 3 mile limit so that gang could be apprehended. Linda immediately sees the error of her ways and decides to help. She dives underneath the spy-dome and pulls it closer to shore allowing the authorities to easily apprehend the spy gang. She then flies off to find Lena who is attempting to join a nurses aid program in Africa to escape Midvail. Supergirl then explains that she mistakenly took Jeff for a spy and blacked out his mind hypnotically to prevent him from revealing military secrets. She then used a Jeff Colby robot at the dance to pretend that he was falling for Linda Danvers to spare Lena from marrying an alleged spy. Lena forgives Linda and Supergirl. Jeff and Lena are soon married with Linda acting as the maid of honor. Lex Luthor is seen reading the newspaper headlines wondering how his sister would feel knowing she was marrying the FBI agent that placed him in jail.
