Synopsis for Superman: "Superman... Guilty of Homicide!"

A seemingly successful financier by the name of Ron Noble enjoys his routine in his role as a family man. Appearances are misleading as it is revealed that Noble is running a secret crime exchange. One of his criminal projects involves a doctor by the name of Frost. The doctor receives a cadaver from the local Sanitarium and Frost is successful in bringing the dead corpse back to life. A criminal by the name of Bullets is revived through a Regeneration operation but he is told that his lifespan is very limited. His lifespan will only last 10 hours but Noble and Frost offer him a million dollars for his family if he can complete a criminal mission. They inform Bullets that Superman will hold a boxing exhibition with his friend Jimmy Olsen. Noble has a scheme in which he will replace Olsen with Bullets. Bullets would then box with Superman and this would make it seem like Superman delivered a fatal blow and Bullets would actually die. Superman would then be charged with the crime of murder and his career would come to an end. Bullets agrees to the plan since he only has 10 hours to live. On the way to the fight, Bullets has a near miss with a car that almost runs him over. The stress of the event kills him and Bullets dies on the sidewalk. Noble then draws cards with his henchmen to see who will take Olsen's place now that Bullets is dead. He fixes it so that Noble draws the high card and wins the opportunity to box Superman. Noble fights Superman and allows himself to be tapped on the chin. As he goes down, he bites on a capsule that slows down his vitals making it seem as if he has died. A coroner then surprisingly confirms that Noble really is dead and Superman is immediately arrested. During the inquest, a lawyer establishes that Superman delivered the fatal blow. It is later revealed that the lawyer is really Dr Frost in disguise. He had replaced Noble's capsule with actual poison and it appears that Noble really died in the fight. The story ends with Superman being booked while reporters look on. The story is continued in the next issue.

Synopsis for Supergirl: "Superboy in Argo City"

Years ago, Superboy was accidentally struck and knocked unconscious by a mining probe of Zor-El's from Argo City, while he was shaping a jewel from a diamond meteoroid. The probe took the amnesiac Superboy to Argo City, where he met and became friends with young Kara, and her parents Zor-El and Allura. However, when Argo City's crossing into space territory inhabited by an alien race is interpreted as aggression, a member of that race demands one of their lives in sacrifice for the "crime". Superboy quickly offers himself, and is taken away from Argo City, despite the protests from the family of Zor-El. To forego interference from the Argonians, the alien cleanses their memories of Superboy's existence. Once within range of a yellow star, though, Superboy recovers his powers and memory--though he does not remember anything of his visit to Argo City--and breaks free and eludes the alien. Years later, Supergirl shows the jewel she got from Superboy to Superman. Superman remembers carving it from an asteroid years ago, but neither can figure out how it got in Argo City.
