Synopsis for Supergirl: "The Hated Girl of Steel"

Supergirl assists a campus professor by the name of Marla Alexander by flying her into space so she can observe a strange Nebula. While in space, the professor is exposed to a strange flare of light which renders her blind. The Stanhope students and Professor Alexander blame Supergirl for the accident and she becomes a hated scapegoat. Supergirl feels guilty and flies the professor to a world renowned doctor but he is unable to fix her vision. Supergirl then flies the professor back to Stanhope so she can host an important meeting of eminent scientists. They meet in a newly constructed World Science Center but it actually turns out to be a spaceship capsule that takes all the scientists to an alien planet called Rancors. The scientists are greeted by a race of aliens that intend to siphon their scientific knowledge using a device that will conduct a brain drain. Their intent is to collect scientists from different planets to upload their scientific knowledge into a brain bank computer. They would then use that knowledge to seize control of the entire Universe. At one point the aliens take professor Alexander aside and fix her eyesight with a device that regrows damaged cell tissue. They reveal that her blindness was caused by their defense system when she got too close. After her eyesight is restored, Professor Alexander enthusiastically attaches herself to the brain drain device but the device begins to overload the circuits and renders the device unusable. The professor then takes off her disguise and reveals herself to be Supergirl. Supergirl subdues the aliens and returns the scientists back to Earth. She then uses an alien device to cure the real Professor Alexander so she can return back to teaching her classes.
