Action Comics #610 is an issue of the series Action Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 1988.

Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Risky Business"

Green Lantern, determined to discover whether he is indeed completely fearless, is about to take on a sword-wielding lunatic without the aid of his power ring. Hal is at a disadvantage due to a previous bullet wound [1], and the swordsman almost finishes him off. But as he is about to swing the sword for the final blow, he gets confused and loses consciousness. The man wakes up, completely unaware of what was happening and of his killing rampage. Green Lantern subdues him quickly and handles him to the police, then flies off the scene.

Later, Green Lantern visits the Police HQ to talk with the officer in charge of processing the lunatic swordsman. Lieutenant Rensaleer explains that this man, called Morris Levine, had a clean record and no drugs or alcohol in his system, that he just snapped and turned violent.

Hal gets back to his apartment and finds Arisia, who is upset due to the way the audience treated him at Oprah's tv show [2].

Back at Police HQ, Rensaleer receives a telegram from an anonymous source signed as Mind Games saying that he caused the man to run wild and that he will turn more citizens into homicidal maniacs unless the city agrees to his demands of $500.000. The lieutenant discards the telegram, claiming it's something out of a comic book.

Hal and Arisia order food from room service. As the waiter arrives at the door with the food, he snaps and turns into a homicidal maniac. Arisia opens the door and the waiter lifts his knife to kill her.
