Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Bethel"
Green Lantern returns to his sector, and he intercepts a wooden whip coming out of a black hole near the moon. Hal inspects the vessel and learns that its some kind of shrine called "Bethel" in need of repairs. He takes the spacecraft to the woods of California, hoping the alien can repair it. However, when Green Lantern flies away, the visitor comes out of the ship and creates a copy of Green Lantern. The doppelganger, trying to learn Earth's customs, follows a truck carrying wood to a gas station. He enters the cafe and sees an action movie where the character leaves a trail of destruction behind him. The visitor asimilates the data imitates the character, destroying the station and stealing the truck and its wooden cargo.

- Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium states this issue happened on Earth-85, presumably referencing the the Captain Marvel arc in Action Comics Weekly #623-626 arc. However, it cannot be determined if the other stories told in this issue that don't contradict larger continuity happened on New Earth, Earth-85, or both.
