Synopsis for "All This... and Lex Luthor II!"
As the city of Metropolis recovers from the blackout, the citizens see Lex Luthor II as their hero, while they criticize Superman for not helping them when they needed him. Lois Lane is personally disgusted about the situation, mostly about the people that ignore all the hideous things Luthor Sr. did. Still, Clark tries to give him the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, Perry who also doesn't trust Luthor's son, asks Lois and Clark to find out everything they can about him.
Lois gets an interview with Luthor, where he opens up about the foster family he grew up with, whose land was owned by Luthor Sr. When he says that he found out about some "unsettling" things Luthor did in the past, Lois burst out on rant explaining all the dreadful actions he committed and how Superman is the only one that stood up against him. Lex starts to cry, saying he knows of all those things, but he didn't want to believe it. Humbly, he asks Lois to settle a meeting with Superman. In the meantime, Clark followed the lead of an old friend, Maureen, in Australia, where he checked the remains of a burned house where Lex Luthor II used to live with his foster parents, corroborating Lois' facts. When he meets with Luthor, Lex says that he wants to put every bad blood between his father and Superman in the past, which Kal-El agrees. Before leaving, Superman gives him a family portrait he found at the burned house, and Lex hugs him with tears in his eyes.
Meeting back with Perry, Clark and Lois give the information they gathered about Lex, which was also "corroborated" by Superman, but Perry is still unconvinced. Still, he admits he has no reason to hold a grudge against Luthor for what the father did, and he swallows his pride. However, little does he know that Lex is hearing their conversation from a rewired telephone, while reveling on how he successfully fooled everyone in Metropolis, including Superman.
