Synopsis for "Champion"

Superman continues his journey through space. Happening upon an abandoned city of great technology, he inadvertently triggers the automated watchdog -- Outpost -- to awaken the alien defender known only as Champion.

The buildings of the city are encased in a shielding. Hoping to get inside and perhaps find directions back to Earth, Superman uses his heat vision to burn away a small tunnel. Not used to his new strength, he burns away almost the entire shield off of one building. Inside he finds what seems to be a holographic display of the galaxy. If he can figure out how it works, hopefully he can use it to find Earth.

Meanwhile back on Earth Lois Lane arrives at Lexcorp to talk to Lex Luthor about the disappearance of Sasha Green. He tells her that he has fully cooperated with the police, and that according to them she died in a helicopter crash. Lois provides evidence that dental records prove the body found in the helicopter belonged to another Lexcorp employee, Jillian Simmons. She also mentions the gym bag still being in her locker. Lex is surprised and offers to help. Lois leaves saying that she promises to get to the bottom of it. After she leaves Happersen walks in and Lex is mad at him that he didn't take care of the gym bag before. He tells him that there must be no more mistakes!

Champion approaches Superman, but Superman can't understand the alien language that he is speaking. Champion accuses him of breaking the seal on the building and trespassing. They start to fight and Superman is unable to control his new found strength. Champion is surprised at Superman's strength and tries to take the battle away from the city so that they don't damage it. Superman feigns defeat and allows Champion to take him back to his base of operations, a ship in orbit. Champion and Outpost discover that their captive is Kryptonian. They also discover that Superman is actually awake and the two briefly fight again, but Superman is soon able to communicate directly with Outpost in Kryptonese. Outpost tells Superman that the planet was a victim of a cataclysmic attack by invaders, the rest of Champion's people remain in suspended animation. Superman sees that they are both protectors of their respective worlds, and they make peace. Outpost tells Superman of a wormhole nearby that will return him to Earth.

As Superman flies through the wormhole, another object is just leaving it. An asteroid with a very alive Doomsday attached to it!
