Synopsis for Vigilante: "Blunderbuss Booty!"
The Vigilante and Stuff the Chinatown Kid are checking out a State Parole Board to find the Dummy is talking big about going straight and opening a swap shop and the Vigilante asks if he intends to return the stolen money last time he was arrested, but the Dummy says that one of his goons “Flip” Webb hid the money and died before he could tell him where it is, but “promises” he'll pay it off with yearly installments. The Vigilante is willing to offer the Manikin of Crime a chance (though Stuff is more than fine with him staying in for life.) He soon lives up to his promise, starting a “Swap Shop,” a form of bartering place. The Dummy shows he's willing to be charitable even by giving a woman money back for her old cauldron to lend her a new one. A week later, Greg Saunders and Stuff find the Dummy is seemingly reformed, but their formerly paraplegic foe, the Lash, has apparently returned with a newfound mobility and just leaps into homes through open windows to rob them. The Lash notes that he isn't common in hitting women and uses his bullwhip to steal an antique blunderbuss, then does so again at a big party and whips the people back to get away with it. Greg soon gets into costume as the Vigilante and takes off with Stuff (the Chinatown Kid) on the Vig-Cycle to lariat the Lash, who is able to whip them back and apparently whip their motorcycle into swerving when they give chase. However, when they continue… the Lash is gone! They find that he has mysteriously disappeared right next to the Dummy's Swap Shop, but when they head in to see if the Lash has snuck in to hide, there's no trace of him. Outside though, the Vig finds horsehairs stuck in the door and is suspicious when they also notice known second-story thief, “Snag” Burke, is heading into the Dummy's shop. They presume that he might be using his Swap Shop for fencing… but the Dummy orders Snag out!
However, once the two Westerners are gone, the Dummy reveals that he knew the two heroes were watching him and that he's only faking going straight and opening a secret room where the Lash is hiding out (on his horse) and is guiding the Lash to steal blunderbusses for him. Nearby, the Vig and the Chinatown Kid are fixing up the Vig-Cycle again and soon tracks down the Lash (who is out on his horse again.) The Vigilante decides to pick up the Dummy with him to ride into the Early American Museum. The Vig manages to get lassoed by the ankles by the Lash and realize the Dummy has led them into a trap. The Prairie Troubadour wrenches the lariat, dragging the Lash from his horse. However, when he finds he's losing, he grabs one of the stolen blunderbusses only to find it's packed with stolen gold coins! They soon turn in the goons to the police (after a quick fistfight) and say that Flip Webb must've hid the stolen money in a blunderbuss and the Dummy goes back to prison again.
