Synopsis for "Kith & Kin, Part Two"
Superman and Talia arrive on Ra's al Ghul's flying ship to discover there not just a Lazarus Pit, but something more terrible: a crucible in which Ra's intends to draw tremendous power from the Earth.
Elsewhere, the Scarlet Scythe exchanges chit chat with Lois Lane, revealing that it was not the League of Assassins who made the attempt on Superman's life, but someone using their own equipment and evidently trying to frame them for the attempt if anyone chose to dig around.
Back in Ra's lair, Superman tries to stop Encantadora from fueling the machine, but she refuses. Superman threatens Ra's, but then two pictures appear on the wall. One is of La Encantadora's little brother with Victor, the other is of Lois with the assassin. Superman stops, and then tells Ra's that it won't work, he can see that the little boy is already dead. Furious (at Superman's lie), La Encantadora goes berserk, but Ra's escapes by diving into the crucible. Superman tells Talia to save the boy and then dives after Ra's.
Although Talia has no need to save Lois, however, as when the reporter stabs the Scarlet Scythe in the hand with an ornate pen, the psychotic assassin falls deeply in love with her and allows her to go free.
Meanwhile, Superman grapples with Ra's al Ghul within the crucible, wherein the Earth rejects Ra's and embraces Superman, wanting to bond with this more "pure" specimen. However, Superman's overwhelming love for Lois is enough to prevent him from obeying the Earth's will and so prevents the disaster that their bonding would bring by destroying the crucible.
Later, Encantadora promises to hand herself over to the police, which she does for a brief moment, before disappearing with Victor to begin a new life, and Talia agrees to become the head of LexCorp, a role which Lex Luthor can no longer fill now that he's been voted U.S. president, and hands Luthor a collection of disks stored with all of Ra's al Ghul's information that he has accumulated over the centuries.
