Quote1 Your... "predecessor"... was an inspiration to us all, Superman. This cape and this shield mean something to people, but it is only a starting point. Metropolis will be inspired again. By a human being who can show them how to rise above. Quote2

Synopsis for "Path of Doom, Conclusion"

Lois, Jon and Wonder Woman watch Superman's battle with Doomsday from the safety of the Justice League Watchtower. They are confused by the sudden appearance of a group of soldiers, causing Wonder Woman to suspect someone might be trying to capture Doomsday and turn him into a weapon.

The soldiers, sent by Mr. Oz, attempt to push Doomsday through a portal, but Doomsday kills them and smashes the portal. Superman attacks Doomsday again and goads the beast into following him across the world. The chase eventually leads to Superman's new Fortress of Solitude, where Superman orders Kelex to activate the defense protocol he had prepared against Doomsday. With the help of the Fortress' automated weapons, Superman keeps Doomsday distracted long enough for the Phantom Zone Projector to activate.

At the Watchtower, Lois ask Wonder Woman to help Superman defeat Doomsday. While Superman had previously asked Wonder Woman to protect his family, Lois insists she and Jon are already safe. Wonder Woman reluctantly agrees and goes to help Superman, giving him enough time to program the Projector and send Doomsday into the depths of the Phantom Zone. The heroes have won the battle. Superman and Wonder Woman re-establish their friendship while Lois and Jon celebrate the heroes' victory.

Sometime later, Superman returns to Metropolis and catches up to Lex, who is still helping with the relief effort. Lex insists that he wants to do good for the people of Metropolis, much like the fallen Superman did; but the current Superman is not sure whether or not he can consider Lex an ally. Superman then flies to the Watchtower and happily reunites with his family.

While the Kents return home, Mr. Oz successfully intercepts the Phantom Zone's projection and captures Doomsday for his own goals.
