Synopsis for "Superman, Meet Clark Kent - Part 1"
The human Clark Kent gets chased across the Geneticron building by a security guard determined to keep the company's secrets safe. As he rushes to safety, Clark remembers the events that led him to this situation.
Earlier that morning, Clark was present at a Daily Planet press conference led by Lex Luthor. Perry White was just as confused as Lex at seeing Clark alive and well, but nevertheless happy at seeing Clark again, and Lex intended to use the conference to dispel any rumors that Clark and Superman are the same person. Even the Kents, masquerading as the Smiths, were watching the conference from the safety of their house in the outskirts of Metropolis, interested in hearing the story of the man who calls himself Clark.
Many people in the crowd still believed Clark and Superman are the same person, and Clark said that a few months ago, his life was endangered after he had started investigating the Geneticron corporation's activities. Superman advised Clark to go into hiding while he assumed Clark's identity and diverted attention away from the reporter. Since Superman and Clark looked exactly the same, no one would be able to tell the difference. One bystander, angry that his business was destroyed by Doomsday's attack, pulled out a gun and shot at Clark. Fortunately, Maggie Sawyer restrained the gunman but Lex and Perry were forced to evacuate Clark from the premises. As Clark exits the building, he realizes Superman has been observing him.
Later that day, Clark was subjected a lie detection test, mandated by Lex, and answered every question truthfully. Clark, hoping that he could resume his work on Geneticron, visits the Geneticron building alongside Jimmy, who showed him a tape from one of the Daily Planet's security cameras. The tape depicted Superman and Batman, who was holding the same case as the test administrator's, causing Clark to suspect Superman requested Batman to administer the test. As Clark and Jimmy entered the building, Clark requested an interview with Mr. Bandu, Geneticron's CEO, but Bandu rejects the interview and tells Clark to stop harassing the Geneticron staff, lest he will sue Clark and the Daily Planet into total destitution. Undaunted, Clark hid in the bathroom and waited until work hours ended, allowing him to sneak into the building's inner facilities. Unfortunately, he was discovered and is now running for his life.
Back in the present, Clark is captured by the Geneticron security guard, who attempts to throw him from the rooftop. Fortunately, Superman flies in and saves Clark, saying they need to talk.
