Synopsis for "Men of Steel, Part 1"

Many years into the future, Earth and humanity have been ravaged by the forces of Apokolips. In the devastated streets of Metropolis, a boom tube opens and the parademons kneel to welcome their leader, a mysterious figure wearing a red cape. This is a future predicted by L'Call the Godslayer and his partner Zade, who are adamant in preventing this future from coming to pass. L'Call insists this will be his final mission, much to Zade's displeasure, but they put those thoughts behind them for now, as Zade has caught a glimpse of their target's location.

Meanwhile, deep into the Amazon, Superman and Superboy attempt to uncover the Geneticron building, which was mysteriously teleported from Metropolis into a remote jungle. As they venture across the jungle, Superboy asks his father why didn't he choose to wear the black suit or his familiar suit when he returned to active duty, to which Superman replies that he wanted to wear something more inspirational for his return. Father and son eventually find the building, still unsure who brought it there in the first place.

At the Lexcorp building, Lois prepares for her interview with Lex until she comes across the human Clark. They don't have much time to talk, as Lex tells Lois to step into his lab to start the interview. The lab features a holding station for Lex's armor and several computer screens monitoring the human Clark, causing Lois to suspect that Lex might be spying on her as well. Starting the interview, Lois asks Lex about his interest in Superman, to which Lex replies that the world would always need a Superman and Lex believes that only a man is worthy of being called "Superman", not an alien who might be hostile to Earth and humanity in the long term. He shows Lois his upgraded armor, which features an energy beam that teleports a block of concrete to a research station on Nevada. Lois correctly deduces that Lex has a mother box, causing her to assume that Lex might cause trouble later on.

Suddenly, the building is hit by an explosion and the floor is torn apart. Before Lois falls off into the streets, the human Clark grabs her in time; while Lex puts on his armor and prepares to confront the oncoming threat. The human Clark remembers the signal watch Superman gave him and activates it. Superman receives the signal, even deep into the Amazon, getting him to put his investigation into Geneticron on hold and taking Superboy back into Metropolis. Putting Superboy in a safe place, Superman goes on to assist Lex, who has been attacked by L'Call and Zade.

The alien warriors prove to be a match for Superman and Lex, using distraction tactics to keep the upper hand. L'Call proclaims Lex to be future destroyer of Earth, and for that crime, he must die.
