Synopsis for "Men of Steel, Part 4"

As Lex remains imprisoned in the planet Nideesi, L'Call and Zade prepare for battle, correctly assuming that Superman will come to save Lex. L'Call, remembering his previous fight with General Zod, is impressed by Superman's potential. Superman flies through the space portal he found at the Geneticron building and reaches Nidessi, all the while pondering whether or not saving Lex is the right thing to do. While the Lex from New Earth was indeed a criminal, the Lex from Prime Earth has yet to prove his hostile intentions and might even innocent. Superman breaks Lex out of his cell but they are suddenly attacked by L'Call and Zade, who anticipated Superman's arrival.

Superman demands to know proof of Lex's crimes and L'Call shows him a vision of Nideesi's past. Several years ago, Nideesi was a prosperous, verdant world until it was attacked by the parademons of Apokolips. Nideesi's inhabitants were forcibly converted into parademons, including L'Call's daughter T'Sai. L'Call fought valiantly to protect his family, but the parademons were too many, until the fight was interrupted by Darkseid himself. L'Call pleaded for his family's safety, but Darkseid killed them with his Omega Beams. Since then, L'Call had pledged himself to fight Darkseid's tyranny, no matter the cost. Once the vision ends, L'Call reasserts his mision to prevent Lex's rise as Darkseid's heir, appealing to Superman's duty to his own family.

Meanwhile, at the Daily Planet, Perry wants Lois and the human Clark to continue investigating the disappearance of the Geneticron building. Lois answers a call from Jon, who asks when is his mother coming home, and she replies she will be there as soon as she is able. Lois returns to work while Jon goes back to having fun with his friend Kathy and his dog Ranger.

Back in Nideesi, Ch'Arr attempts to convince Superman that Lex must die in the name of the greater good, even showing him what Lex had hidden in his cell: a Mother Box from Apokolips. Lex maintains his innocence but Superman asks why did the denizens of Apokolips provided him with a Mother Box, to which Lex replies he wanted to escape. L'Call says he brought Lex to Nideesi to be judged by the Remnants, the last survivors of the worlds destroyed by Darkseid, who judge Lex guilty. Lex questions the fairness of the Remnants, who are all biased because of the destruction they endured at Darkseid's hands, but Ch'Arr maintains the judgment of the Remnants applies to all worlds. Even Superman agrees that Lex is guilty.
