Synopsis for "Men of Steel, Conclusion"
Superman and Lex defend themselves from L'Call and Zade, who expect an easy fight since the planet's red sun has decreased Superman's powers. Even without his powers, however, Superman proves to be a formidable combatant, distracting Zade and stealing L'Call's laser gauntlet, which he uses to drop a stone pillar on top of L'Call. Superman and Lex escape to a nearby cave, where Lex thinks they can use the Mother Box to escape to Earth, but Superman thinks L'Call and Zade will keep following them.
Jon has an unexpected encounter with the human Clark, and a shocked Lois tells Jon to stay back. She tells Clark that Jon is her cousin's son and she is taking care of him while she is away on a business trip. Clark says he came to see if there was anything he could do to help Lois in her Geneticron story; he also came across the deliveryman in the lobby and offered to bring her food up. Lois says she has to help Jon with his homework and hurriedly lets Clark off the apartment. Jon feels strange after seeing a man who looks so similar to his father, yet is a completely different person, and Lois explains she and his father never wanted Jon to meet the other Clark, especially because they have no idea of the person the human Clark is. As the other Clark leaves, he can feel Lois is lying to her but cannot understand why.
Back on the remote planet, Superman and Lex fight Zade and L'Call separately. Despite L'Call's superior combat forms, Lex keeps him at bay with his arsenal. At the same time, Superman ambushes Zade, using his cape to cover his head and then throwing him into a wall. He then uses the laser gauntlet he stole from L'Call to hold Zade hostage, but instead of shooting him, Superman wants him to listen. Moments later, Superman and Zade go on to interrupt Lex and L'Call's fight, with Zade telling L'Call to listen to what Superman has to say.
Superman explains that he when investigated Lex's history, he found no evidence of criminal behavior; and although L'Call insists Lex will be guilty of enormous crimes in the future, Superman appeals to L'Call's own desire to walk away from the life he had chosen. He even says that some part of L'Call doubts the visions and cannot help but wonder if the targets he killed could have changed their own destinies. Superman promises to keep watch of Luthor and asks L'Call to use his sphere to catch a glimpse of Superman's future, not Luthor's. L'Call agrees and whatever the sphere shows him, it brings a faint smile to his face. He recognizes it has been an honor to meet Superman and sends him and Lex back to Metropolis.
Once they return to the Daily Planet, Lex admits he first thought of Superman as an impostor but now, he truly recognizes him as someone worthy of being called "Superman". After his confrontation with Ultraman, Lex got a firsthand experience of parallel universes, seeing it as the only reason as to why there is a new Superman flying around and why Superman has been so distrustful of him: the world Superman came from had its own Lex Luthor, one who stepped out of line. Superman admits he should judge Lex by the man he is, not the man he fears Lex to be. The two men shake hands, and Lex offers Superman the cape held by his predecessor, saying that a true Superman should wear it; but Superman turns it down and says that Lex could find another way to honor the previous Superman. Lex gives the cape to the Daily Planet, where the staff places it in a display for everyone to see.
Clark returns home to his family and Jon asks about his father's future, to which Clark admits he doesn't know about but he can't feel but show a bit of curiosity.
L'Call and Zade return to Nideesi and catch a glimpse of Superman's future; a future in which Jon, the human Clark, Lex Luthor, Blanque, Mr. Oz and the Cyborg Superman will be a part of.
