Synopsis for "Mild Mannered, Part Two"
Superman and Steel have taken Lana to the Fortress of Solitude located within the Arctic, hoping to find a way to save her. They place Lana in a medical chamber and attempt to stabilize her condition, but suddenly, Kelex gets a message from the other Kelex at the Fortress in the Himalayas; intruders are coming. Superman, however, has no time to worry about that and leaves the other Fortress' automated defenses to take care of that matter.
Meanwhile, Lois examines all the evidence and research she got on the human Clark Kent at her alternate self's apartment. This "doppelClark", as Lois calls him, had the exact same academy history as her Clark, but his youth was different: he never came from Krypton. His birth parents died in a natural gas explosion, but there is no record of such explosion. Lois has to put her suspicions to rest for now, as the other Clark has come to pick her up in a limousine. She is surprised to learn that Clark is taking her to Le Cinc, a luxurious restaurant, as Clark wants his night with her to be special.
At the Fortress, Lana's condition takes a turn for the worse. Remembering when he was on critical condition back when he was temporarily killed by Doomsday, Superman encases Lana's body on a Kryptonian battle armor, which contains healing protocols that can sustain the wearer's life from even the most grievous wounds. Kelex informs Superman that there is no response from the other Fortress, but Superman insists on staying at Lana's side.
Meanwhile, Henshaw and his group have reached the Fortress at the Himalayas. One of Henshaw's soldiers, Ramirez, has ventured inside the Fortress to investigate its contents. Unfortunately, he comes across the evil telepath Blanque, who orders Ramirez to release him. Moments later, the Fortress explodes and Henshaw's group is forced to escape.
At Metropolis, Lois realizes that Clark wants to have a romantic night with her, even proposing her with a ring. Offended, Lois leaves and insists she is not going to marry Clark, who says they are meant to be together. Lois leaves in a taxi, while Clark angrily gets in his limousine and tells the driver to follow Lois' taxi, even though there is no driver inside the limousine.
Back at the Fortress, Lana's condition is stabilized and Superman says that the best course of action for now is to keep Lana within the armor until she can make a recovery. Superman departs to reunite with his family while Steel elects to stay by Lana's side. Kelex informs Superman that the other Fortress is secure, to which Superman says he will check its alarm systems by tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, the Fortress at the Himalayas has been devastated and Blanque has escaped.
Clark, Lois and Jon enjoy a nice family dinner at Hamilton County, and Jon complains about having to do homework and says that having fun is more important, to which Clark and Lois reply that everyone has responsibilities to fulfill and Jon is no different. The human Clark watches the Smith family from afar and realizes that Jon is Lois' son, not her cousin's son as she previously claimed. Suddenly, the human Clark regains his true memories and angrily says that if it is fun Jon wants, then fun he will get.
