Synopsis for Starman: "The Plundering Planets!"
Convict #72859, formerly "The Sun," mopes in his cell, then gets a big idea. He arranges to have a seemingly ordinary hand-held mirror sent to him at the prison, and that night catches just a bit of silvery moonlight on it. BAM, the solar energy of the mighty mirror eats through metal like a warm knife through butter. The Sun departs. Soon the Sun has freed his "satellites", Moon and Saturn, and established a new hideout. They decide to steal a famous emerald, embedded in a meteorite, from its wealthy owner, John Wilcox. By bad luck, they arrive at Wilcox's mansion on the same evening when Wilcox is entertaining his two friends Ted Knight and Doris Lee.
Ted is distracted by Wilcox's extremely bratty twins Tiny and Perky, and actually changes into Starman to give them a firm talking-to. While he's out of the room, thru an open window, Saturn tosses his constricting metal hoops onto Wilcox and Miss Lee. Tiny and Perky discover The Sun and The Moon in the house, and shoot them in the bums with metal-tipped blowgun darts. Chasing the twins, Starman rounds a corner and encounters the crooks, melee ensues. The Satellites are losing badly, until Saturn sneaks in and tosses a constricting ring over Starman. The delinquent twins have meanwhile sneaked out of the house and are sabotaging the gang's car.
Starman slams himself against the wall enough times to bend the hoops to a new shape, and escapes from them, then runs in to the library to free Doris and John, before flying off in pursuit of the fleeing burglars. Some distance away, the gang spots Perky and Tiny hanging on to their sedan, and screech to a halt, and run after the boys, who flee while shooting more darts at them. But soon they are caught and dragged away to the villains' underground hideout. This goes on at Vine and Harley Streets, somebody calls it in, and a police dispatcher sends out an alert, which the Scarlet Scourge detects on his short-wave radio set. He zooms onto the scene, but not before a big load of itching powder has been scattered into the air.
Starman carves open a manhole cover and finds the boys, then teams up with them to take down the Plundering Planets. They booby-trap a door with a dump-bucket full of itching powder, and grease the floor, then lure the crooks into the room. The Moon manages to bring his Gas-Ice Gun to bear and immobilize the brats, but then Starman takes over, and takes out Moon and Saturn in short order.
