Jerry, working as a gas station attendant, tries to butter up a customer. After a few attempts to cater to the man, Jerry tells him that he's being charged $19.50 for 50 gallons. The man is shocked, as his car can't possibly hold 50 gallons of gas. Jerry looks back to see gas leaking out of the car all over the road.

Jerry has taken on a job as a lifeguard to get the attention of girls. When someone is in trouble out on the turbulent waves, Jerry leaps into action, hoping his life-saving correspondence course will be of use. He puts a lifesaver on the struggling person and leaves the water. A bystander asks him why he didn't pull them in, and Jerry explains that he's getting that lesson in the mail later.
