Synopsis for "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet"

David and Ricky want to go hiking. Ozzie insists on coming along to make sure they're safe, and teaching them the "mysteries of woodcraft" he learned as an Eagle Scout. He forces them to leave behind most of their camping supplies, under the logic that a true woodsman does not need such things. Harriet tags along when they leave, carrying her own pack of supplies. Ozzie drives the boys crazy in the woods insisting they do things the way Native Americans did. He tries to cut down saplings for a bridge across a river, but is stopped and fined heavily by a park ranger. Harriet saves the day by remembering their checkbook. Ozzie tries to cross his makeshift bridge and falls into the river.

The family enjoy a delicious meal while Ozzie, refusing, makes a huge mess trying to open a can of noodles with an axe. Next when he gets injured while trying to communicate with an owl, Ozzie tries to teach the boys how to care for wounds. Harriet demonstrates the value of some practical first aid items, but Ozzie insists on them preparing a tourniquet and a splint. A skunk arrives and the family runs away. Ozzie, unable to run with his splint, is forced to hide in a tree.

Synopsis for "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet"

Ozzie falls out of the tree, injuring himself again and scaring away the skunk. Next, he decides to teach the children how to follow a marked trail. His path of acorns is immediately collected by a squirrel, and a bear begins to follow him as he goes. Nick the dog is able to lead them anyway. They find Ozzie hiding up a tree as the bear swats at him. Nick barks and chases the bear away. Wow, this could have gotten real dark real fast. I mean have you ever seen Werner Herzog's Grizzly Man? Ozzie is saved, but his clothes have been torn to shreds. Harriet has used all the supplies she brought, leaving only the knapsack, which she cuts holes into for Ozzie to wear. He is forced to walk home in this ridiculously tight and tiny makeshift outfit.
