Synopsis for "Countdown to Injustice: Chapter Two, Out of the Volcano"

The group head to the Fortress of Solitude and retrieve the Phantom Zone Projector, their most useful weapon against Ultraman. Red Tornado senses Ultraman jump realities and Jon bids farewell to Lois and Jay, then follows her and Val-Zod through the portal to Ultraman's location.

Ultraman launches a sneak attack on them, quickly smashing up Red Tornado and stealing the Projector, which he uses to send her and Zod into the Zone. Jon and Ultraman fight, but due to his training to avoid harming normal humans Jon subconsciously holds back from using his full strength even against someone as powerful as Ultraman, and the more ruthless Kryptonian overpowers him. Jon again feels the energy welling up inside him and lets it out, allowing him to bring Ultraman down with a single blow, but when the energy recedes he is exhausted and collapses.

Ultraman recovers and tells Jon that he will imprison him in the volcano again, then travel to Earth 0 and murder Lois. However, the Superman of the world they are on (revealed to be Earth 49) suddenly flies up behind him and snaps his neck. Superman recognises Jon as his and Lois Lane's son.
