Synopsis for "Redemption"
Superman decides to end his exile and return to Earth.
Meanwhile, Morgan Edge is still cornered by the Daily Planet's articles about Intergang, this time written by Lois Lane. So he uses Darkseid's weapon, Turmoil, to break havoc in Metropolis and get rid of the meddling reporter. Turmoil finds Clark Kent's doppelganger, Matrix, and attacks him. The robot leaves the scene after its next target: Lois Lane. Cat Grant, witness of the attack, is surprised to find "Clark" walking out of the rubble with not a single scratch. She then calls José Delgado to warn him about the robot looking for Lois. José puts on Gangbuster's suit and goes to Lois' rescue.
Turmoil finds Lois, and José arrives at the scene just in time. Gangbuster, no match for the giant robot, is easily beaten, and both he and Lois end up buried alive in some rubble.
Lex Luthor is witnessing the scene from his LexCorp building, and an assistant breaks in, letting him know that Brainiac woke up and is repeating the same sentence over and over: Superman is back.
