Synopsis for "Taken to the Grave"
Clark Kent finds a note left by Batman in his apartment and sets to find the vigilante somewhere in Metropolis. At night, Batman sneaks inside the morgue and takes the fingerprints of the unidentified female victim, with a police guard triggering the alarm as he leaves. Superman hears the alarm and goes in that direction expecting to find Batman, but instead finds Gangbuster, keeping watch over Cat Grant's house. Superman tells Jose, he admires his fearlessness. Batman interrupts the conversation and asks Superman to talk privately. When they leave, Gangbuster is attacked and held captive by Shockwave and Chiller, two killers hired by Intergang after Blindspot's failure to kidnap Grant.
In a separate alley, Batman explains to Superman about two connected deaths related to radiation in Metropolis and Gotham City. He shows a reconstruction of the female body's face, and Superman is shocked to find out it's Amanda McCoy. Superman explains her connection with LexCorp and the Kryptonite Ring she used on him. Unknown to Superman, Batman is in possession of the ring but decides to keep it from him.
The two decide to follow the lead and investigate LexCorp's labs. Batman checks the computers and finds Amanda's address. With security on their tails, they escape from the building and head to the Zenith Awards, hosted by Lex Luthor, in their civilian clothes.
Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent meet Lex Luthor, and Luthor thanks Kent for saving his life a few months ago. Intergang's forces interrupt the ceremony, in an attempt to hit Kent and Lois Lane. Lex saves Kent from a blast, saying they are now even. Using his heat vision to generate a smokescreen, Clark changes to his Superman suit, and Bruce to his Bat suit. They stop the invaders and leave to look for Cat Grant, assuming they already kidnapped her.
Meanwhile, Shockwave destroys the building where Gangbuster is being captive, and Chiller, disguised as Jose Delgado, kidnaps Cat Grant.
