- Do not fight that which must be. For the glory of Krypton is waiting to be nurtured -- by the true last son of Krypton... me.
Adventures of Superman #480 is an issue of the series Adventures of Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 1991.
Synopsis for "Dying Breed"
Superman manages to avoid falling to the sun's core after the Eradicator threw him, and they continue their fight in Mercury. Superman gets free from the Eradicator's grasp and attempts to return to Earth, but the "Krypton Man" grabs him again. Knowing he can read his mind, Superman fills his head with thoughts of giving up, resulting in the Eradicator throwing him into the sun again. The Eradicator returns to Earth to keep rebuilding it to Krypton's image, changing landmarks like Abraham Lincoln's statue into a Kryptonian monument. Superman escapes from the sun's gravitational pull once again and flies straight to Earth, landing somewhere near Alaska, completely drained out of energy to keep fighting. The Eradicator senses Emil Hamilton's presence in the Fortress, and he goes there to get rid of the human intruder.
