Adventures of Superman #558 is an issue of the series Adventures of Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of June, 1998.

Synopsis for "Another Typical Day"

Part of the untitled "Dominus Effect" storyline, this is one of three stories with Superman cast into the Silver Age reality, which starts off with him and his fellow superheroes (Supergirl, Steel, Superboy, and a Superman robot) playing a harmless game of baseball with a probe that will be donated to charity, when he and Lois Lane discover that Jimmy Olson has been turned into an alien being. Superman suspected that Jimmy accidentally drank the alien isotope that he was supposed to deliver to Professor Hamilton and so has Lois watch over him to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. Lois and the Daily Planet staff discover that Jimmy's alien appearance also gives him the power to turn anything he touches into gold, which an escaped Lex Luthor tries to take advantage of when he kidnaps Jimmy. Later on, it is revealed that an alien actually switched places with Jimmy via a teleportation beam, leaving the real Jimmy naked inside a storage room.
