Adventures of Superman #628 is an issue of the series Adventures of Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 2004. It was published on May 19, 2004.
Synopsis for "Battery, Part Two"
With Replikon now dead (see Adventures of Superman vol 1 627), Superman is left with a mystery. Before he can investigate however, he must quickly change back in to Clark Kent for the security forces to find him (he previously pretended to fall out of a helicopter in order to change in to Superman).
Back at the officer, Clark and a young reporter get in to an argument. She tells Clark that she used to look up to him, and now she's disappointed in him as a reporter. Clark has been demoted to an area of the Daily Planet referred to as "The Shack".
Meanwhile, Lois is preparing to go on assignment to cover the U.S. invasion of Umec. Wonder Woman flies in to her apartment at Lois' request. Lois asks Wonder Woman to keep an eye on Superman while she's gone. She worries that when Superman gets wrapped up, either in a story or a Superman emergency, he tends to forget the little things. Lois specifically asks Wonder Woman to make sure he remembers to eat, sleep, and do the laundry.
We then see Superman in space with Green Lantern. They're looking for Replikon's home where he lived with his children. They discover that Replikon's home was attacked. They even find the corpse of one of Replikon's children.
Back on Earth, Clark returns home as Lois is finishing dinner. She listens to him talk about his day, they eat pasta, and drink some wine. Lois then leaves in the middle of the night to catch her flight to Umec, but not before telling Clark that she loves him and to be careful. He returns the sentiment.
The last page reveals the villain saying "Let's see if we can hurt Superman." Cryptic stuff, yo.
