Ajax is a legendary Greek warrior king from antiquity, a veteran of the Trojan War.

He is a towering figure and a warrior of great courage, being second only to Achilles among Greek heroes of the war. Achilles died in Ajax's arms, shot in the heel by a poisoned arrow.[2] Still during the war, Ajax died by plunging his sword into his own chest, killing himself; but even after being brought back from the dead to serve The Morrigan (in particular Bellona), he still has the sword through his torso,[3] which he seems unable to remove, for Bellona, who has power over weapons, commands the sword to remain there, prolonging his suffering.[4]

Dr. Psycho, who was also a prisoner of The Morrigan, was able to remove the sword from Ajax's chest, freeing him from Bellona's thrall, and in return, Ajax freed him from her prison. They both went to settle accounts with Bellona, but after that Ajax's fate is unknown.[5]
