History
As the first Green Lantern, he was the inspiration for the current generation's Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.[3]
During World War II, fighting the Nazis in Germany, who used the evil power of the Amulet of Apophis, it was Alan who took charge of hiding it at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean, since it could not be destroyed, after the Spectre used the amulet to make Adolf Hitler shoot himself. The only person for whom he told the location of the amulet was Doctor Mid-Nite, who at that time took care of the injuries of the then infant Andre Chavard, who ended up hearing the secret.[4]
