Al Rothstein started his superhero career as Nuklon. He later joined in the legacy of Atom as Atom Smasher.

History

Al Rothstein inherited superpowers from his super-villain grandfather, Cyclotron. He was taken under the wing of his godfather , the Atom. Under the codename Nuklon, he helped found Infinity, Inc. Al later changed his name to Atom Smasher and joined the Justice Society of America.

During Black Adam's tenure with the group, Adam and Rothstein became friends. Unfortunately, he manipulated Atom Smasher into committing crimes. Al was arrested and had to work with the Suicide Squad. After serving out his term, he rejoined the JSA.
