King Komodo was an enemy of Mr. Miracle.

During World War II, Albert von Killowitz was Hitler's technical genius. He escaped imprisonment and hid in Korea. War came to that country several years later, and lost American soldier Ted Brown found him. Von Killowitz revealed his identity and planned to keep Brown imprisoned, but Brown escaped.

The unmasked von Killowitz

Von Killowitz moved again, this time setting up operations in an Asian temple. He donned a mask and called himself King Komodo and used his technological skills to turn the local populace into his loyal subjects. The only person who knew he had survived the war was Brown. He had his henchmen to stage an abduction, which attracted the attention of Mr. Miracle and Big Barda. The two New Gods followed them back to the temple but were imprisoned with Brown.

King Komodo tasked Mister Miracle with completing an obstacle course of death traps. Halfway through, Mister Miracle realized Komodo used technology and used circuitry of his own. He used his own technology to override King Komodo's and force him to tell his guards to load the prisoners in an aircraft. Without his guards around him, King Komodo was easily apprehended.[1]
