Alberto Falcone was the son of crime lord Carmine Falcone and one of the victims of the Holiday Killer.
History
Early Life
Alberto Falcone was the son of Gotham City crime lord Carmine "The Roman" Falcone and, for much of his life, was the heir to the Falcone Crime Family patriarch. However, Alberto never wanted to control the Roman empire and instead desired to live a normal life away from Gotham. While studying at Oxford University, Alberto met Gilda Gold. The two fell in love and were married, and Gilda became pregnant. However, Carmine was infuriated when he discovered that Alberto and Gilda's baby had been conceived before they were married and refused to allow a child born out of wedlock into the family. Alberto could not bring himself to stand up to his father, and against Gilda's will their marriage was annulled and the child aborted.
The Long Halloween
Despite the considerable knowledge of running a business he obtained at Oxford, Alberto's inability to stand up to his father proved to Carmine that he was weak and not a suitable successor. Their relationship became strained, and by the time the Holiday killings began, Carmine refused to allow Alberto to involve himself with mob activities and openly mocked him during meetings.
On Thanksgiving, the two got in a heated argument while Carmine prepared dinner; after Alberto revealed he sent flowers to Gilda's second husband Harvey Dent's hospital room using the Falcone name, Carmine became so angry that he grabbed Alberto by his collar and chocked him. Alberto did not attend Thanksgiving dinner that night.
During the New Year's Eve party aboard the Falcone yacht, Alberto excused himself from the festivities when it became clear that Carmine considered Bruce Wayne a better son than him. He met Selina Kyle on the deck, and the two started to connect. Alberto began to feel romantically attached to Selina (unaware that she was his long-lost sister), but their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of Batman, who Selina inadvertently revealed was Bruce.
Batman had come to the conclusion that Alberto was responsible for the Holiday killings to eliminate potential successors to the Roman empire, which Alberto vehemently denied. As he pushed back against Batman's accusations, the real Holiday appeared and shot Alberto repeatedly until he fell overboard into the yacht's propellers. Batman would eventually discover that Holiday was Gilda, who revealed she targeted Alberto because of his inability to stand up for her and their unborn child, and did not regret killing her ex-husband.
